Everytime I hear an ad to switch to FNB, I smile. After being a loyal FNB customer for 25 years, I've just switched to Capitec. My FNB bank fees in December were over R400. Interest on my account zero. Despite having a healthy balance all these years and never going into overdraft, I still qualified for zero interest. FNB's best deal is 4% on a flexi fixed deposit with a minimum balance of R50 000. Delighted that with Capitec I earn 4.25% on a regular savings account with a min balance of R25. Transition was painless and impressive. Way to go Capitec! So glad the monopoly has been toppled.
