Criminals were able to almost clean out my account using my pin and card after my card was swollowed by an ABSA atm.
Absa's response was to give me R1000.
Security guard did nothing to assist when guy spoke to me at the ATM. He stood behind me and tried to press the botton. I asked me to leave me alone as I know how to use the ATM. The security guard did nothing to assist. The guy did not see my enter my pin as I covered the key pad. They left. My card was then swollowed by the ATM.
I would like Absa to explain to us as consumers how does a criminal have access to my card and pin by just speaking to me. Read your contract, In simple terms, when drawing out money, you are not allowed to speak or look at anyone or anything around you, if money is illegally taken from your account then they will not be liable to refund you.
TRUST ME, CHANGE BANKS. Two friends of mine had the exact same thing happen to them, but they bank with FNB and STD BANK - And Guess What!! They were refunded.
I requested a copy of the footage. After almost a month, I was told that it was now available, but they are not allowed to show me - SOMETHING IS FISHY HERE.
