Rejected Household claims

I called Absa today to log a claim as my ceiling collapsed. I was not afforeded the courtesy of a call back today, I received a sms stating that someone will contact me within 48 hours. Now surely there must be some kind of urgency is someone's ceiling collapses. I stayed on the phone all morning eventually got through to Absa at 1pm and the agent informed me that he spoke to his manager and that the claim does not warrant an accessor has it is a maintenance issue. Please please tell me how does one maintain your ceilings? What the have I been paying insurance for, for the past 16 years??? In November my gate motor ceased and the assessor advised me that it is a maintenance issue, In Oct I had leaking pipes, and a leaking ceiling (not the same one) and was told it is maintenance issues. As a consumer I am really not sure what I am covered for? This is disgusting!! We will be changing our personal bank account, home loan and Insurance.
