I visited an Old Mutual Branch in Bara Square on the 5th December to apply for a personal loan of which I was given a quotation of R10, 000. I kept following up with the consultant who lodged the application, who then finally told me there was a query on my ID because of the spelling of my name, and that inquiries were being made with Home Affairs.
Old Mutual never got back to me and after giving up on them and trying another institution for a loan, I was declined because I had been listed on the SAPF database as a potential. I then followed with SAPF and was informed that Old Mutual had me listed for faked bank statements which isn't true because I got them from Nedbank next door. I then went to the consultant who referred me to my bank, for what I don't know! I have tried to get through to person who listed me from Old Mutual, of which the call centre says doesn't exist. I was also told that the Complaints Department would get back to me, and it hasn't. Please assist as now my integrity is at stake because of people who don't do proper due diligence, refused to help and now criminalize me, closing doors for me with other institutions.
Very insulted and offended.
