Cashpassport failure

The preamble is that FNB Claremont convinced me to get a VISA cash passport for my travel to South America though I initially wanted to take travellers cheques. I was assured that as long as my pin was 4 digits It would work. It then transpired that in fact it did not work as the digits on the card are not raised. I was therefore stuck on the other side of the world with no cash and as a result forced to withdraw further funds from my Visa. I requested a reimbursement of the additional fees, but am still waiting for a response, never mind a satisfactory one.

There is more than the amount withdrawn on the VIsa still on the cashpassport. Despite many emails back and forth with Visa credit card they refused to do anything and passed the buck to the branch who want to blame cashpassport. Any fine print is only available after purchasing and loading the card. The branch never replied and so only claimed to know about it when I went in personally upon my return. They claim to have escalated the issue, but still nothing happens. At the very least I want all the extra costs incurred refunded and this does not even begin to cover the embarrassment and inconvenience of the matter.
