First National Bank
Decline of homeloan without reason after approval

I applied for a home loan on the 4th of December 2013. After numerous telephone calls and correspondence, I received an 'approval in principal' for the full amount I applied for pending valuation of the property. Then expecting my final grant any day, instead I received notification that I have been declined because all of a sudden I do not qualify for the loan. No reason given. I started communicating with Angelique Turner trying to sort out what the problem was. After numerous emails and correspondence I was awarded a 50% loan. This is the fourth time this has happened with FNB. Their slogan is 'how can we help you? ' How are they helping??? The previous times I applied for home loans at FNB the same happened with them just declining without any explanation. The previous time they said it was because I am not a client of FNB, but I have a home loan with them... What poor service is this? How can you receive an approval in principal pending valuation of the property, then after valuation of the property (which was concluded to be worth more than the loan) one does not qualify for the loan anymore??? This moved me to switch my current loan to Standard Bank!!! FNB is useless
