Sanlam Sky Funeral Claim

I want to make our fellow South African aware of the service Sanlam Sky give to customers.
I have a funeral policy with Sanlam Sky which was valid and I had to go for maternity leave and and was unable to pay for those months.
What amaized me is that when I called Sanlam Sky on my return to work I was told that my policy lapsed and I should have informed them about maternity leave since my policy covers maternity leave, I was upset because none of that was explained to me when I signed with them. I asked their consultant if it can be reinstated and I pay the balance. She then asked me to write a letter and fax it to them so that they can reinstate it but I will have to pay the amount outstanding since there is nothing they can do as I did not report my maternity leave early. I therefore borrowed the outstanding money and paid it as she said and faxed the proof of payment. An sms was then sent to me to say they have reinstated the policy.
When I went to claim today after that on my way home I received an sms saying it was declined, I called them and was told I had to wait for 6 months which was not told before paying. So think twice before you take any policy with Sanlam.
