I have lodged incident this morning Ref No 9493029 (Leaking geyser). I advised the consultant that I was a bank pensioner and 60, as I have a family member who also has a policy for his property, and he was advised that he no longer needs to pay the excesses on is policy, as he is 60 and a pensioner. I was told to phone 0860123445 to find out about the excess, as I have to pay R750 if the geyser has to be replaced. The admin dept apparently also said if the geyser needs replacing I would have to pay R750, but if it was anything eles there would be no excess. I dont understand why pensioners are treated diffirently. I have friends with other insrurance co, that dont pay excesses. I have a policy for my car and contents with Outsurance, and when I reviewed my policy once I truned 60 all my excesses were reduced to nil, Is Standard Bank so in need of money that they have to bleed penioners, who have had a policy for in excess of 25 years. Shame on you Standard Bank. You do realise you will be losing a client.
