My Clearance letter not issued despite several att

I request your assistance in dealing with a matter regarding FNB bank. I had an outstanding outstanding balance of R10, 000 with FNB Bank which was settled in June 2013. I paid up the amount in full and requested for my account to be cleared. Hiever, in July 2013, when I visited the branch selling laptops in Cavendish, I was told that my account was in default by R10, 000. I approached the bank to find out and was told that it was the R10, 000 that I owed and will be cleared once all paper work goes through and I was not owing anything. I applied for a home loan yesterday November 27th and received a report from the home loans department that my account is in default by R10, 000.I wrote to the FNB branch regarding the matter and got a response that the default is actually a delay. I argued that a delay and a default are two different things. I have asked for a clearance letter to no avail. I have requested my account cleared as I am not owing FNB a cent. They have refused to clear my account. I need speak out to assist in this matter. I have copied the managers of FNB in this communication.
