How can you not know my branch code

I went into broadacres branch and was told (written on a bank information card) that the bank code for rondebosch was 500911, I told this to my new employer, they then asked me to confirm by email.

I did not have the paper with me, so I looked up online and it says 02500911.

I then phoned the bank (what a mission, 100 computers and NOBODY to answer a simple question!)
EVENTUALLY reach a human and it is 025009.

The new employer now needs me to come back in to do a new form as HR won't accept three changes.

Standard bank - incompetence at its best!
