What a crazy bank this is. My wife and I went to First National Bank to open a new account with them.
All the paper work goes though and on completion, I get informed that I have arrears on my Existing FNB credit card. I was told that I am in arrears by close on R23000.00. We tried phoning while we were in the bank, but no one could help. According to myself I closed this account successfully in 2007 in a FNB branch, I had until last year still used my internet banking profile to access my Wesbank car loan.

So this is now almost 7 years later and they decide to tell me this now. No person from this bank has contacted me in this time. While clearly Wesbank from the same profile has been able to maintain contact over the 5 years that I had my car account with them.

FNB what was your plan, to let me die of old age before you attempted to contact me? If we did not open this account at FNB how would we know about it? I will be registering a complaint with every organisation that I possibly can to attempt to resolve this issue in a more timely manner.

So much for being told that you are apparently a better bank, which I disagree with totally.
