Cannot close, open or ammend my account

I have bonds and card account (Bluebean) with Std Bank. The only reason I have a credit card is to access my internet banking. My card has expired (was never notified of a new card being delivered) and now I cannot access my internet banking to make additional payments into my home loans.
I have been into the branch to try to sort this out and they have advised me that the only way to fix the problem is to close the credit card account and open a new one (this seems crazy!). I have tried to close the account (as per instructions from the people in the Northgate branch - emailing [Email Removed] but this has been futile)
Nobody seems able to help me and there is no way for me to access my internet banking. This is really frustrating, all other banks seem to be trying to make it as easy as possible for me to bank with them and Std bank is just stacking hurdles in my way - it seems that it would be easier to just move my home loans to another bank who wants my business.
Do not bank with these people.
