I have a bond with Standard Bank and have applied for a re-advance towards my property for improvements. I have never skipped a payment since I was financed by them and I had previously requested a reduction in my interest rate but they refused. I have now asked for a re-advance and when I called to enquire about the status of my application, I was told that the application was unsuccessful yet there hasn't been anyone who had called to inform me nor did they consider my current living expenditure vs income earned. I thought banks are there to assist their clients especially whereby they afford but clearly this hasn't been the case.
I would appreciate it if banks would consider clients as individuals and look at the importance of their applications instead of just discarding them.
