I have an ABIL credit card. This card was in arrears as I was previously under debt review. My debt review was rescinded a few months ago, leaving only my ABIL accounts which I have been dilligently paying on a monthly basis. On Monday I received a telephone call from an ABIL agent informing me that I needed to go into a branch with a copy of my ID book and proof of address (Fica) and my card would be reinstated. In fact I was told that the branch would issue me a card. I made a special trip to African Bank Centurion. The agent there made copies of my documents and then said they would contact me from Head Office within 48 hours. Today much to my surprise I get a phone call from an agent at ABIL Head Office telling me that my application was rejected. What the heck. I never made the application. I was told by their (ABIL) agent to take the documents to the branch. This is disgusting and has totally wasted my time. It is quite obviuos to me that the left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing at ABIL.
