I instituted a claim for Lightning damage to my 2 x gate motors and CCTV. These items are uneconomical to repair and need to be replaced as confirmed by the supplier we obtained the quote from. The gates motors have already been replaced due to safety risk but not the CCTV and this is also a safety risk. As already confirmed to ABSA and the assessor these items are not repairable, and need to be replaced and they do not want to replace my items that were damaged by the lightning, they are applying betterment to my gates motors (how can they do that, how do they know what percentage to use to apply betterment, I have never heard any other Insurance company applying betterment on their gate motor claims) and only paying me out for certain items on my CCTV. You cannot replace certain equipment on the CCTV to fix it, it is not going to work, you have to replace the whole system as quoted and you are welcome to confirm this with the Technician that gave us the quote. Your urgent response is awaited as my safety of wife and children are a concern.
