So after many years of being bombarded with OUTsurance advertising, I finally took the plunge today as I require vehicle insurance. I should start by saying that the consultant that assisted was very friendly and helpful. So after about 20 minutes on the phone the quote that was produced was exorbitant, to put you into perspective. It came back as R1800 full comprehensive. When I told the consultant that discovery was offering me the same cover for R1000, he responded by saying many discovery clients are moving to OUTsurance. I eventually found my comprehensive insurance with Santam for R 770, that's a staggering R 1000 cheaper. So I ask, how is an out bonus even worth it, taking those figures into account I'll let you do the math! What I'm most disappointed about though, is the fact that they claim they will beat a quote, and if they don't they will reward you with R 400 (I stand to be corrected), to which there was no mention of. If this is the point of differentiation for OUTsurances marketing strategy, shouldn't they be living up to it? Utterly disappointed.
