Outsurance
Outsurance playing judge and jury

Bus drove into my wife's car in Malibongwe Drive, Joburg on 11 October 2013. Driver pushed and shoved my wife when she asked for his details. She got back in her car and he drove off. Got the bus' numberplate J F N 2 9 5 G P. Did claim through Outsurance. I made it clear in writing that I want my no claim's bonus reinstated and excess refunded once they trace the bus driver and claim moneys back. Got call from what sounded like a 10-year old "Legal Expert" from their legal division informing me that he looked at the drawing and photos and that he determined that my wife was more to blame than the bus driver because the bus driver bumped her car on the back door and not on the back of the car (I have a recording of the conversation ;-)). I asked him if he checked the time of the accident (peak traffic on a friday afternoon), the speed, the road conditions. Nope! It dawned on me that he does not even know if the bus driver had a driver's licence, but he can make such a determinitation. Point is the claim is not significant enough to investigate, easier to have client pay excess even if no fault. Shame on you Outsurance, you are taking your customers for a ride in a bus...
