I enquired about the possibility of reducing costs on my savings account, also mentioning that I'm a pensioner. After enquiring the lady suggested I see a consultant. A lady called my name and showed me to her office. Without a greeting or introduction she asked what I wanted. I explained that I was looking to safe costs and she threw a book infront of me, I requested her to explain as I am not familiar with banking terms. She offered an account with a minimum balance of R5000 which would be cost free. I told her that would not be possible for me to maintain but if it were what interest will I be earning. She told me that I will be saving costs of R500 so what more? I once again told her I would not be able to maintain balance to which she very rudely told me that I then have the right account, no other offers. She actually implied that ABSA only has 2 offers; my savings and the pensioner deal with R5000 min. balance. I told her she has wated my time with her unhelpfulness to which she made rude snorting noises. I enquired about her name - Quindeline Hattingh. I really expected more from a bank with whom I have been since "Trustbank" days
