I've been paying DMC for more than one year now, for a Standard Bank Credit Card debt, upon which Judgement was granted in Dec 2007. Recently I requested statement from DMC, and to my horror it starts with an opening balance of R8308.85. The very next line indicates interest of R6119.30!! (dated the same day as the opening balance). My payments haven't made a difference! This account had a limit of R 3700, which is less than I've paid DMC so far. I checked with Standard Bank re an account history to reflect exactly what I'm being charged for, and they've sent me to DMC. DMC sends me to SB!! Credit Bereaux reflects no judgement, yet I have a case number for the judgement. It seems that it's now listed as slow or bad payments - who made these changes without notifying me?? And where is my case file? I guess the courts, ombudsman or whoever it takes, will be my next course of action. This infinite bondage of debt and those who keep it in place, is an utter disgrace!
