I have been trying to open a business account with standard bank now for a month now but so far have been unsuccessful. The problem that we have been faced with is that one on the directors of the company lives in Cape Town while the myself and another are located in Polokwane. My fellow director and I applied for the account this side and were told that it wouldn't be a problem for the documents to be sent to Cape Town and signed by our fallow director there but as it turns out it is a problem.

The documents have been sent to Cape Town twice and returned to the Polokwane branch with no progress. The first time the reason we got was the brunch we sent it to did not exist (we got the address of this brunch from the Standard Bank website). The second time the documents were sent to a brunch in the Gardens area which did exist but that brunch sent the documents back to Polokwane because they said they did not have a business section, I feel that the Cape Town director should have been notified that the documents were there and either deliver the documents to the closes brunch with a business section or just be called to sign because that is all that is needed, a signature.
