Standard Bank
Eliving the death of my dad

My dad passed away on the 28 of may 2013, and I notified the bluff branch. I took my dads death certificate, identity documents along with my documents. I was advised that the account will be frozen and that the deceased department will contact me. I left for Johannesburg on the 4 of June and whilst in Johannesburg, I went in to the standard bank branch in East-gate on two other occasions to follow up on my dads account. On both occasions I had to resend the documents. I came down to Durban to resolve this matter only to hear that standard bank deceased department was understaffed and overwhelmed with the work. The team leader in deceased department mr selepe moekeste, did not call or send a courtesy email to inform me what was going to be done to resolve this matter. It was difficult to accept my dads death as it was very sudden and for me to go through this everyday with standard bank is absolutely unacceptable. The ladies at the bluff branch are trying to help but it is not their department that has failed to deliver.
