DO NOT TAKE ANY INSURANCE OVER THE PHONE
I was phoned in January to ask if I would like the dept protection plan from fnb. It covers temporary disability/permanent /life cover/retrenchment. I said yes over the phone, and no communication since, only money taken off my account. I went for a back operation in June and submitted a claim because I could not work for 6-8 weeks. Today I got a response saying that there is a exclusion if you have had a back operation in the past. I was never informed about this before I tool the policy.
Before trying to submit this claim I spent about R 200-R 300 on phone calls to find someone who knows about this policy. The credit card department did not even know about this plan. I think that this is pathetic and fnb just wanted to make money in a time that I really needed this cover.
Thanks fnb for putting me at a disadvantage. You surly lost a client because of this... And I might just spread the word...
