Absolutely Confused

L am a foreigner who's held a bank account with FNB bank for almost 3years. My work permit expired recently, but before it expire date, l applied for renewal with homeaffairs somewhere around June. When l recently went to check wether new permit was out, homeaffairs told me not yet. And they wrote me a letter addressed to FNB bank, to notify them of my pending application. When l went to FNB with the letter to update my bank details, they couldn't assist me. Now l am worried as l do have a smart device debt order that goes on every month. What is going to happen with that debit order if FNB won't recognize the letter written to them by homeaffairs confirming permit renewal application?! Please l need assistance, is my nearest branch is totally clueless.
