Internet Banking-change of cell numbe

My son & I went into Std Bank Karaglen 3 weeks ago. We requested for his account to be joint/linked. We also requested that the cell number for internet banking is changed as we had lost the sim with the number listed on their system and could not change the password as we had attempted it 3x and it said we must go the the branch...
We did the necessary, signed the forms, gave them the new cell number and were told it would be done but there was a waiting period... Nothing was done!!!
We have now gone into the branch again on Monday 23 September and ONCE AGAIN requested same. For cell number to be changed. I signed the form and was told I would receive a one time password in 45 mins on the new cell number given and I could then change the necessary. I DID NOT receive the password at all and on trying to login and change the password it now states that I am not registered. What a joke. How difficult is this request and how long does it take? Highly frustrated!!!
