A purchase was done at my local spar, and payment was made via a credit card. I received the notification that the transaction was authorised via sms, but the till system did not receive the authorisation. The spar wanted to re swipe the card (chip type) on another machine until I stopped them saying that the transaction had gone through.the manager assured me that the bank had most probably reversed the transaction, which after a long phone call to the bank (who asked all personal questions and strange ones) was confirmed
.My question or grip is,
WHY SEND A SMS THAT THE TRANSACTION HAS GONE THROUGH BUT NOT THAT IT HAS BEEN REVERSED DUE TO WHAT EVER REASON .
ABSA needs to wake up, all the trouble and embarrassment could have been prevented, with a simple sms.
