Not so full service banking

I phoned ABSA to change my debit order details and they keep tranferring my call from one department to another. After being tranferred over and over again it seems that no-one is able to assist me in changing my details! Even though I have done this over the phone previously they are trying to tell me that I can only change details at a branch? I phoned the branch and they told me that it can be done over the phone. Do they really expect me to drive to a branch and stand in a que to change banking details??
