I tried for more than an hour today to resolve a query which I know is resolvable. The call centre staff 'transfer' you from Pontius to Pilate even though they know that there is a waiting time of at least 10 minutes each time. Funny how you are being 'transferred' to InternetBanking only end up at GeneralBanking again - where you started originally. I processed two interaccount transfers within SAME BANK SAME BRANCH. The source of the transactions two different accounts (Same type though) to the same destination account. Both transactions affected the destination balance as expected - however only the second transfer (which was done as a test to confirm my expectation) affected the AVAILABLE balance. I want to use the funds that were transferred to pay an account - why was the first transfer not 'Cleared'? The transaction types are the same; the source accounts are two accounts of the SAME TYPE; the destination account is one account. Standard Bank advertises that if you PAY another standardbank accountholder the funds are available immediately? why not for the INTERACCOUNT transfer? I understand the delay between banks, but everybody - even business banking wants to pass the buck.
