Change of debit order date

My wife has been trying to change the date on her personal loan for the last 3 months. We've tried in the bank and we were told to fax a proof from her employer stating her pay date every month. That was done but still the date has not been changed. Now every time the debit order goes off her account goes in to a minus and we have to pay for it
