We had a fire in our house and the assessor came and the claim was denied because they stated that the house was built incorrectly. This is after I have been loyally paying my premiums for 2 years without a claim. To make matters worse - when I originally took out the policy (after it was agreed and signed off), I asked them to come and do an assessment - which they did & promptly increased my premiums. I would like to know what they assessed and what I have been paying for.
On another note: At the time, the assessor said that there was the possibility of this claim being denied - and should it be denied, I should contact him directly and he had a connection that could fix this for me cheaply. I can only wonder if that had something to do with it.
