Alexander Forbes short term insurance seemed like a breath of fresh air when I first signed up with them. Well, that was until I submitted a claim on my vehicle (Mini Cooper S) in May 2013 (which was settled) but on the base model which excluded any of the FACTORY FITTED EXTRA that you pay for when purchasing any car. It took me a couple of weeks to explain to the client service consultant in the JHB offices, Linda Edwards that car my car was fitted with FACTORY FITTED EXTRAS. When she finally grasped what I was trying to say for weeks now, the blaming game started and it was implied that I never mentioned THE EXTRAS. Well off course I didn't mention it as I thrive on the excitement of driving around in a car that I know is under insured - bit of sarcasm. As we are so often reminded by Financial Institution, all phone calls are recorded and this can be used for disputes. The professional staff at Alexander Forbes was & is still unable to produce or even locate the call where I failed to to mention that I'm not driving the standard model Mini. I was then assured by Linda Edwards that the regional manager, Mr. Trevor Steele would contact me to resolve this dispute. Still waiting.
