I have a home loan with Standard Bank. We received a note in July 2013 stipulating an amount of R7 500 due. This was then paid in full and proof of payment forwarded to Standard Bank. For some odd reason all of a sudden there was another R7 500 outstanding and worst of all WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION WHATSOVER our cheque account was debited today with the amount of R7 500. First of all, how on earth can any institution just debit your account with this amount and second of all how on earth do they think that we should survive for the rest of the month. And even if there is an explanation and the R7 500 was/is due should I have not been offered the option to opt for an arrangement to repay the amount??? I have encountered so many bad experiences with Standard Bank that I want to run away. This attitude is totally unacceptable and merely indicates that at Standard Bank you are just a number and treated accordingly. No wonder they are loosing so much market share. I expect a very urgent call to explain the debit which I want credited back to our acc as well how they think that we must meet our responsibilities for the rest of the month!!! I await a VERY URGENT CALL!!!
