After 5 years Im told I have a Loan

Good Day..

I received a call from Elizabeth of Debt-In Assistance advising me of my balance of R7612.97 for a loan I supposadly took out in 2008..

my concerns are I never received any communication from fnb advising me that I had an outstanding balance, for the past 5 years I've never gotten an sms .. email or even a phone call.. where Elizabeth was able to contact me on as Ive never changed my contact details of address.

Why wait 5 years to tell someone that the account has not been paid? surely if I was notified of this back in 2009 I would of settled this account.

I would like to know Why this is only reflecting now?. why I was never contacted about this loan? or is it FNBs business process NOT to Notify clients intime in hopes to collect bigger monies then intended.

Please advise where to from here. Id like this before I contact Elizabeth back for a debit to settle this account.
