I was approached to take out additional cover on my vehicle, shortfall cover, but which also covers minor bumps and scratches. I bumped my mirror two weeks ago and phoned Hollard to register a claim. They could not find me on the system. This is ridiculous as I pay them more than R200 each month for this cover yet when I want to claim they cannot find any record of me. My banker and the dealership where my car was purchased both confirm that I indeed have this cover from Hollard. I spent an entire afternoon on the phone being transferred from claims, to customer services, to another division. Just to be sent back to claims and have to start the process from scratch. Extremely irritating and pathetically inefficient service. I am in the process of cancelling my policy, I shudder to think how frustrated I would have been had I been in a accident requiring the shortfall facility.
