Failed to repair my vehicle instead sold it to SMD

I have been with auto and general for years and for the first time this year, I needed to claim because I was in an accident.

Little did I know that they only cared for you when you paid your monthly installments but don't really care if you need their help as an insurance company.

My car was towed from Kempton Park to Bedfordview after the accident. I didn't hear anything from Auto and General and no one was returning my calls or anything. I started to worry and only to find out after about 4 weeks that my car had been scrapped to a write off and sold to SMD.

I went to SMD and found my car... The damage on the car didn't warrant scrapping. Only the control arm and a few parts needed to be replaced.

I incurred transport expenses cos I now needed to tow my car back from Krugersdorp to Kempton Park. Then I fixed my car from my pocket where as I've been paying for insurance.

What is this world turning to, who can we trust if our own insurance companies are not to be trusted.

My family is with Auto and General because we trusted it, now we are searching for a different insurance company that we can trust.
