I settled an account with Standard Bank on the 27/07/2013 and was told that I would need to wait 2 business days for the account to be closed and the Debit Order to be cancelled as they need to log this. The lady that assisted me advised that I would receive a sms by the Tuesday and if I didn't not I would need to call into the call center. I had not received any sms by Friday the 02 August and called into the call center @ 9am. The agent advised that she would escalate the query to her Team leader and get them to call me back. I called at 13:30 again as I still had not received a phone call-I spoke to Annette who said she could see that this query had been escalated and that she would get the team leader to call back. I then requested to speak to the team leader and was told that they are in a meeting (convenient as there should be a supervisor on the floor at all times) I then requested for the team leader to call me back before 3pm and to date I have not received a phone call or sms. I am absolutely disgusted at the service I have received and how all of the agents that I spoke to passed the buck onto the next person not wanting to assist me and making empty promises.
