I telephoned the foreign exchange desk at ABSA, Newton Park, this morning to request an Embassy Letter as I will be visiting Australia in December and require this document to support my application for a visa. I was advised by Chris Vorster that there would be A R50 charge to write this standard letter. I advised him that I have previously requested an Embassy Letter on numerous occasions and never been charged but he was adamant he would not issue this letter without the charge. Whenever I have a complaint with ABSA I phone their Action Line and have my problem sorted out. This morning I hung on listening to a recorded message telling me how important my call was to ABSA for at least 10 minutes before giving up. They must be receiving quite a few complaints!!! If you cant complain via their Action Line who do you use but Hellopeter!!!
