After getting approval for an advance on my existing home loan with ABSA, I promptly signed the necessary documentation on the 19 June 2013. It has been more then 4 weeks and I am no where closer to finalising this transaction as there is no response from ABSA's highly efficient Copies department in JHB who needs to send the necessary documentation to the lawyers. I have been getting excuses from the branch - who has supposedly cant get hold of their own Copies department (go figure) - excuses such as 'Nobody answering the phone' and 'The servers are down' or the latest 'No reply from the officer' is the common reply.
If only I knew ABSA was going to be so incompetent - during this time I could of switched my home loan, finalised the transaction and be a happy customer at another bank while ABSA runs around trying to fix their so called servers that are down, or pick up their phones that they dont answer. What a regretful experience!!!
