I am an undergraduate student in Unisa, Durban branch. I've been studying using Nsfas, this is my 3rd year of study and I have been rejected loan this semester, reason being insufficient funds. What confuse me is that if they already granted you loan to begin with your studies and already deducting repayment, how on earth they expect students to finish their studies. Most of students will be sitting with incomplete qualification which makes me wonder how they will be able to recover those finances already granted to those people who are waiting to finish their studies and look for a job. I think Nsfas will have to review the way of granting these loans, not to drop students like this. This semester I won't be able to carry on with my studies because the funds are unavailable. Why don't you guys in administration dept.allocate funds to existing students first then give new student afterwards. This is really frustrating to most of us. Another thing if u can please organise the way you deal with the whole process, why do we have to go in long queeus that takes you about 3 days to get help just to check the outcome of your application instead of just sending the progress of application.
