I went to the branch Yesterday (21 January) to reinstate my credit card. After 30 minutes they told me to phone card division. I got back to the office phoned card division only to be told I need to apply back in the branch!! A call I made from my cellphone, which cost me money as I had to hold for over 30 minutes!!! Today in my 30 minute lunch break I went to the Centurion Mall branch again, sat there for 60 minutes before someone helped me!! There was only 2 people in front of me, so this is unacceptable!! After I made a complaint about this someone eventually came to help me. Now I found out I needed some documents!! Like a payslip and 3 months bank statements!! Now why could the incompetent call center operator tell me this?? So another hour wasted!! They owe me R 512.00 which had been paid in by mistake as my credit card is paid in full. I want that money back and they can take their credit card and shove it where the sun doesn't shine!! I will never again be a Standard Bank Client!! This after being a client for more than 8 years!!
