In July 2012, after much back and forth with the bank, I settled my Standard Bank Edgars Mastercard which was one of the accounts i had listed when i placed myself under debt review in 2009, i received a paid up letter from the bank in September 2012 and when asked what i should do with it besides keep it for my reference they said i should send it to ITC to have my reports updated, which i found out was actually not my responsibility but that of the credit supplier.
Anyway, its now one year later and upon checking my ITC report which i do once a year, i noticed a balance on this credit card of R893, i have been calling the call centre since Monday 15 July, emailing all persons that assisted me last year and the generic email addresses supplied to me telephonically, but to date i have not had any one from Standard bank contact me to clear up this matter. When i asked the call centre agents what i should do, they said i must send back the paid up letter to them for checking, the other agent said she will email "someone" who will "write off the balance"...
How is it that i even have a balance after i had paid and settled and closed this account one year ago?
