First I would like to say that I feel FNB are untruthful and mislead their clients.
I freed my credit card only to find a few days later that I was still owing an amount. I spoke to a consultant and they gave me the exact figure which I needed to pay to free my account again. After doing that I emailed a letter stating that I want the account closed. I received an email acknowledging that.
All this was done in May. 2 months later I receive an sms stating that my account is now R199 over the limit. The reason for this is that someone put through a debit and reopened my account.
Why did FNB mislead me with the form to say I want the account closed? So any tom, or harry can reopen accounts? And all this 2 months later?
A consultant called and said that I have to pay this amount and after telling her I will close my cheque account she wasn't very upset or disappointed in that.
So the first chance I get I will close my FNB account and being in sales myself I will inform every customer that I deal with how misleading and unhelpful FNB is.
