I took out a loan in December, my first debit order went off early in December as advised by the sales agent. I made it clear then and there that my salary payment date is the 25th so I have to be debited on that day going forward. My salary date also shows 25th monthly as per documents required for the loan. My next debit went off on the 18 January 2013. I called the call centre and complained. That afternoon a gentlemen called me and confirmed that the reversal was done. He clearly stated to me that I will be debited on the 25th monthly goinging forward. At no stage did he mention to me that for January I have to manually make a payment but promised I will be debited. When I checked my statement in January I saw that I was not debited and out of ignorance assumed that because of the date change and my debits would resume in February. I have always kept all my accounts with African bank up to date and have even settled two accounts early. If I was told in January to make a payment I would have made sure the payment was done. How does it become my fault if I was not told that because a refund was done I would not be debited. I need somebody to help with this.
