I have now twice been a victim of "Cell phone banking" at ABSA.

The first time it happened I was about to go overseas for 8 months. I was not fully made aware of what happened and how it happened and trying to communicate through emails was useless. I had to contact the Ombudsman and eventually ABSA offered to pay back half the amount. So R3000 out R6000 taken.

I was blocked from my account for about 7months while I was away and had no access to my accounts.

On returning to South Africa on the 7th June i re-opened my account with new password etc and on the 23rd of June my account was hacked into again. ABSA is laying the blame on me and will not take liability for the . they are implying it is my fault my details were used. after two weeks of "investigation" they have come back to me with the same information that was obvious from the start. yes they had my pin and somehow got my password the point is how ddid ABSA let this happen?! I do not go throwing confidential information around!!

I am at a loss of R12000 and I want it reimbursed!

Do not trust ABSA and do not use cellphone banking!
