As with so many people who complain about TAx Relax, my contract was illegally auto-renewed. However, at the end of the 2011 tax year, I was informed by Tax Relax that SARS owed me in the region of R16, 000.00. I kept waiting for the rebate to be deposited into my account, but this never happened. When I contacted Tax Relax, I was told that I was being audited by SARS. I had absolutely no communication either from SARS or from Tax Relax. Eventually, I requested Tax Relax to return all my books. They refused to do this. I cancelled my contract in writing and stopped the monthly debit order. They had been paid in full for the 2011 tax year and money had been paid for almost another complete tax year. They still refused to return any of my books. I have now gone to another tax consultant and find that SARS were NEVER given my supporting documentation, receipts, travelling and medical expenses and that insead of SARS owing me R16, 000.00, Iin fact owe SARS in the region of R75, 000.00. I am unable to get a tax clearance certificate and therefore unable to receive my pension from Alexander Forbes. I now have legal and auditing fees to pay. Stay far away from Tax Relax---they are dishonest
