Platinum MasterCard received and expired in 1 day

Upgraded to the the widely advertised Platinum Credit Card, Received my card today and was told that the second card was not going to be issued to my wife because of outstanding FICA documentation. On visiting the bank it was then confirmed that FICA documentation had in fact been supplied and received. Not sure how well they checked in the first place. Now I will need to go back to the bank to collect the second card when they arrives.

To make matters worse, when I get home I proceed to update payment details on PayPal and Apple iStore. Both instances reported that the new card details cannot validated due to the card having expired. Ridiculous.

I phone Prestige Banking who pass me off to Card Division who intimate that I am stupid and have type the expiry date incorrectly. After insisting the call is transferred to a Team Leader I get someone who starts to listen and understand my problem. eventually after teleconferencing with Secure Card staff they agree that there must be a problem on the Banks side. About wait, the call will have to be looked into by the IT division and they can take up to 5 days to resolve. In the mean time I sit without any MasterCard to use. Why?
