Wrong card issued, and now I must wait!?

My Cheque card had expired in April 2013, Standard Bank had assured me that a new card was waiting for me to collect at my local branch. This card was collected and worked up until 3 weeks ago.
I finally managed to make the time to go into the bank and find out what the problem with my card was.
After standing in line for over an hour, I explained the situation to the teller, and made her aware that the account seems to be in order, as I could still use my internet banking. She then agreed stating that there was nothing wrong with the account and my FICA was all in order. She then came to the conclusion that I had been issued a cheque card that was not embossed.
She stated that I should NEVER have been issued this card in the first place.
This is Standard Banks mistake! I would like to know why I was issued the incorrect card in the first place, and I would like this issue resolved over the phone as I do not have time to waste. They then expected me to wait in another even longer queue to resolve the matter, I was not impressed with the attitude received either, and am quite honestly disappointed with this whole matter. I still cannot withdraw money or swipe my card!!!
