Capitec Bank
Capitec wrecks credit rating after arrangement

I took a loan from Capitec in 2012 and I became unemployed in Nov. 2012. I immediately notified Capitec to reduce instalments until May 2013. This was agreed to. I found employment in May and the payments are back to original amount. I was refused car finance last week by another bank as I was allegedly a bad payer. I obtained my credit report from TransUnion and to my horror my (non) payment history for Capitec is as follows: Nov (OK), Dec (60), Jan (90), Feb (120), Mar (150), April (ok). I went to Umgeni branch and was assisted by Lwazi who was very helpful. He called collections and was told that they can see the report on their system but there is nothing they can do. They told him to call CCS, which returned him back to collections. I told him to ask them to provide me with a letter stating that an arrangement was made and I will try to clear the bad report. Collections then referred him to Client Care (8640585) where he was referred to Help Desk Group 2 (8640679) and Nokuthokoza from this group told him that such a letter is never provided. At this moment I do not know what to do as Capitec can't be bothered and I can't even get a phone contract due to this report. Shame on you!!
