FNB you really need to wake up, train your staff and develop procedures on how to deal with foreign co-applicants.
My fiance and I have applied for a Readvance from our exisitng home loan which has been declined as he is a British citizen and not in possession of an SA green ID book. I find this odd, when -
1. Our current home loan is in both our names, my fiance as the co-applicant (British citizen)
2. Our further home loan was approved 2 years ago, after a HUGE FIGHT with FNB (fiance still a British citizen) but application eventually approved when someone in FNB woke up to the fact that it was actually permitted
Nothing has changed from the first original home loan application, which was queried, denied due to a foreign co-applicant but then approved after a HUGE fight
Nothing has changed from the further home loan application, which was queried, denied due to a foreign co-applicant, but then approved after another HUGE fight
FNB - why does it always have to be fight first approve later. I am so over explaining and constant fighting for what should be a simple process! Perhaps a move to a bank who knows how to deal with foreigner applications should be my next move!
