I see so many complaints for them on the same thing, isn't time that they are taken on. I took out a retrenchment policy with them and noted their contract states that if retrenchments are underway they won't pay out. problem is that I did not know of any retrenchments, however it seems that discussions regarding retrenchments did take place between management in 2010 - therefore when I was retrenched November 2012 they denied my claim stating that even if I did not know my policy states they don't have to pay me. For heavens sake would I have taken a policy on these grounds? I have an email from HR Manager stating that I was unaware so there was no misguidance on my side. I am sitting without work and thought I would be covered as I took out a policy should this ever happen to me, now I have to support myself and a special needs child with this kind of thing happening.
Please people can we not do something about this sort of behaviour - why don't they check the details before they take your installments monthly, no they will take that with a smile and then deny you money rightfully due to you even though you had no idea of the retrenchments... please think twice when insuring
