I have been sequestrated in 2008.
I opened a new account with FNB after this, because of their good reputation. Sadly, when I activated my online banking, my loan of 2006 reflected on my profile. After numerous attempts to have it removed, as I have been sequestrated, nothing was done.
On Friday 3 May 2013, an amount of R490.00 was deducted from my personal account towards this loan, without my consent/ authorisation. After numerous phone calls and trying to get the transaction reversed, I was told that it was done internally and that legal should sort it out- they closed for business at 11h00!!! I was in total distress, as I still need to pay bills!
Later the afternoon, I tried phoning again, and got through to Sibosiswo in the insolvency dept. He kindly instructed me to send a couple of documents through, and told me that I will be receiving a refund after they have verified the sequestration.
I still do not know how a bank can deduct money without a customer's consent, and further more who authorises this- no answer has been given to me.
I would also like to know how they can deduct money for something from 6 yrs ago, when I never received a phone call pertaining to this de
